About NAPEMD-5

Our Mission

Since 1964 our chapter has been meeting to provide high quality both free and paid educational opportunities to the local stationary engineers as well as a place to meet and discuss local legislative changes and make connections within the industry.

Our Team

Our board consists of individuals that work in the field that volunteer their time to moving this organization forward and into the future both at the national level and the local level.

Our History

 Our chapter was founded in 1964 as Wheaton MD, Chapter 5. We have had a rich history of National Officers and Presidents. We have moved around the area with the past 30 years or so in the Gaithersburg area. We have always had great participation from our members and vendors who have stepped up to share the knowledge and be mentors for our newest members. Our chapter has probably the youngest average age of most chapters. We have also been instrumental in helping others with our starting the annual Toy Drive for Ronald McDonald House done by Neil Moreland, and the scholarship program started by Neil as well.

With free seminars throughout the year held during chapter meetings you have the opportunity to learn about new technologies as well as new legislation for the area

Every month we discuss the current and upcoming classes with Napeef. Members also have the ability to apply for a scholarship through the chapter to take classes and expand their knowledge.

We have numerous events throughout the year such as our annual golf tournament as well as partnered events with our sister chapter DC1 Such as their chili cookoff.
